This print is one of a limited edition of 950. It is a lithographic print on 300gsm Nimrod Silk Paper and the normal print size is approximately 21.5 x 15 inches. As it is a lithographic print it cannot be made to your specification, but

The print is flat packed to make it easier for framers. Unless you are outside the UK in which case it is sent in a roll for additional security. Michael normally completes your print and despatches it to you within two working days.

The Story of the Painting

The print shows the two Appledore lifeboats, a Tyne Class and an Atlantic 21 exercising with the Clovelly lifeboat off the North Devon Coast.

Michael was crewing the Clovelly lifeboat and the scene is from his boat. The sea and wind state was Force 5 and the tide running at 8 knots. The roar of the engines, the spray bursting between the boats and the winter morning sunlight reflecting off the water will always remain with him.

The coxswains of the Appledore boats were John Pavitt and Mike Bowden.
